Our Team
Jeremy Freyenhagen is very passionate about helping people by delivering first rate service with his top-notch crew. “I love to surprise people with that little extra something they didn’t expect.” Jeremy is very active in many local charities and civic organizations. “Giving back to those less fortunate is important and our company is a great vehicle to do that,” he says. Jeremy has been on the boards of Rebuilding Together Yellowstone County, Interfaith Hospitality and Billings Homebuilder’s Association. He and his wife Candace are active volunteers for their daughter’s teams through Special Olympics. They have three children, so there’s never a dull moment. Jeremy enjoys basketball, golf and just about anything outdoors.
Dan Wegner has been in construction for 22 years, 12 of which have been with Freyenhagen Construction. Dan is our production manager and he works closely with our crew and trade contractors to get the job done. Job management and hands on activity such as cabinets, trim and framing are some of his favorite work. Dan enjoys the versatility of his job, as he gets to do something different every day. He also enjoys hunting (think big elk), fishing, and youth sports (coaching and umpiring) with his three teenage boys. Dan is a big-time people pleaser and has been known to go the extra mile many times to make sure everything is just right.
Ed Smith specializes in custom trim and cabinetry, as well as finish work. Ed brings over 30 years of experience to the job site, which translates to an impeccable eye for detail. He enjoys the challenge that remodeling presents each day. On the side, Ed likes building furniture and being outside doing things like camping, fishing, and hiking. Sports, such as basketball and football, are also rewarding as he coaches for his kids’ teams. Enjoying life with his family and watching his kids grow up is more rewarding than anything to Ed. He enjoys it when projects come together just as the clients expected. Charlotte Padon’s addition was especially fun as he got to put his skills to work with custom work such as trim, bookcases, the fireplace, and the coffered ceilings.
Robert Smith
has over 30 years of experience in construction and specializes in painting and taping. Seeing the changes that can be made, and then making them to maximize the space is wonderful to see. Robert’s favorite project to date is the Rietz project. Having two bobcats driving around under the house was pretty cool and the project was different than anything the company had done before. Camping and fishing interest Robert as well as working with model trains. Robert is a quiet mentor to the younger workers and enjoys helping others improve.
Larry Lueck specializes in trim and finish work and has been around construction his whole life. “Seeing the reaction of the homeowner when we transform something into exactly what they had envisioned leaves me with a good feeling,” says Larry. “Different aspects of remodeling, from start to finish, are all very fun.” Off the job site, Larry is a sports lover. He enjoys everything from the Montana Grizzlies and Billings Outlaws to the Minnesota Vikings, NASCAR and the NHRA. He also enjoys camping and hunting. Although these sports are all fun, the most rewarding aspect of Larry’s life is his wife, kids and grandkids.
Ryan Smith enjoys the diversity of each job and the challenge of solving problems that are automatically built into each project. Each project brings new stumbling blocks and new triumphs. For him, the most interesting project to date was a 16 foot long patio door he helped to install at a home atop the rims. “The most rewarding part of the job is when the clients are so pleased with our work that they have us over for a barbeque or lunch in appreciation,” he says. Basketball, golf, and fishing are hobbies that Ryan enjoys in his free time.
Scott Lueck is Freyenhagen’s estimator and our computer specialist. Everyone who knows Scott understands he’s all about service and doing the job right. He has over 10 years of experience in the construction business, including several years with Lowes and the former Knox Lumber. Scott continues to learn and refine his skills. He attended a Journal of Light Construction conference in Portland, and a Remodeling Magazine conference in Las Vegas. Kitchen remodels are his favorite projects. “Having clients that are so pleased with our work that they recommend us to their family and friends is very rewarding.” Scott has two boys under the age of 3 at home so he doesn’t have time for much else. He hopes to make more time for fishing and golfing in the future.
Marlene Hunt has been Freyenhagen’s office manager/bookkeeper since 2002. She enjoys keeping things organized at the office. Leonard Lynch brings with him a wealth of business, administrative, and human resources experience. Having owned several companies, he has an in-depth knowledge and understanding of the inner workings of business.
After enlisting in the US ARMY and completing his commitment to our country, he worked while attending college at City University of Seattle receiving a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration. Leonard met the love of his life, Char, 18+ years ago and they have two children.
